Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel were married last Friday at the Borgo Egnazia Resort in Puglia, Italy before family and friends. The couple, who have been dating on and off since 2007, reportedly called their wedding “magical.” Now you may be thinking I have confused my pop culture blog with my green blog, but wait, let me explain. This wedding is thought to have cost $6.5 million. Now, I know Biel and Timberlake are young, beautiful, talented, and earned every bit … Continue reading

Time-Lapse Video Goes Viral

Have you seen this trippy YouTube video which features time-lapse photography at its finest? A very attractive 20-something-year-old woman took a picture of herself every day for four and a half years, and then stitched the frames together to create an incredible time-lapse video. According to the woman, she snapped the portraits of her fine-looking self between September 29, 2006 and May 12, 2011. You can see all of the individual photos on her blog, and then watch as she places them in sequence to create the awe-inspiring 41-second video that will take your breath away. I have viewed the … Continue reading

Online Videos and Learning?

In my last post I sort of mused about the problem of criminalizing technologies in schools (and viewing them, rightfully, as an opportunity to disengage as well as engage). The problem I have with some of the standard views I’ve seen in schools is that they decide that because something could be used for ill (a kid could, potentially, use a laptop in class to look at a social networking site or something) that they need to block the possibility entirely. Grade schools and high schools are not alone in this unfortunate action. My graduate work at a state university … Continue reading

We thought it would be a great gift for the kids when they got older. They would have … Continue reading

Video Interview with a Sleep Doctor and Mom

Recently I was invited to ask a women’s health expert, Dr. Donnica, some questions about sleep habits. She put together a terrific video that I hope you will watch. What I appreciated about this opportunity was the ability to ask questions specific to moms of teenagers. When our children are very young, there is a lot of focus on how moms lose sleep. But it doesn’t always get better when our children become teens. In addition, teens have their own sleep issues that can interfere with their daily lives so I thought this was a great way to get some … Continue reading
