This week at Macworld Apple announced their newest product the iPhone. The much-anticipated iPhone combines a windscreen iPod, phone, and an Internet communication device in one.

One neat feature of the iPhone is going to be its Internet capabilities. The phone will come with Safari, Macs Internet browser built in. The iPhone can automatically sync with your computer at home, bringing your bookmarks with you.

The iPhone's Internet functions also enable you to download your mail to your phone. Much like other smart phones the iPhone is designed to bring your email to you, where ever you travel may take you.

The iPhone is planned to have a built in Yahoo and Google search engine and be capable of multi-tasking, meaning that you can be reading a web page, downloading your email and doing a search all at the same time.

One thing I'm really excited about with the iPhone is its ability to use available wi-fi to surf the internet. I tend to go tons of places with free wi-fi, but never really have a need to use it. I do however use the internet function on my hone far more than I should to check my email and sports scores etc. With the iPhone I could utilize all of those free wi-fi spots and stop paying the high fees to use the internet on my phone.

In addition to it's internet capabilities the iPhone is of course a phone, and is also a widescreen iPod.

The iPhone is expected to be released in the US in June with a $500 price tag for the 4GB version and $600 for the larger 8GB version. Cingular has been named as the sole US carrier for the phone.

As a self described Mac dork I am pretty excited about the iPhone. What do you think?
