There are major changes in the conference from last year. It is now by invitation only, reducing the crowd expected from 60,000 to 5,000. Last year, more than 400 game companies participated, and this year that number has been reduced to 39. Let's start with Nintendo. They have been the especially quiet one of the three major players, but we have heard a few things. There are rumors of a new Nintendo DS with a wider screen. This rumor has been denied. There are a slew of games to come that will take advantage of the blanace-board. The popularity of the Wii-fit has spurred on some fun titles, including one tied in to The Biggest Loser celebrity, Jillian Michaels. The titles are: "We Ski," "Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party," "Boogie Superstar" and "Jillian Michaels' Fitness Ultimatum 2009." Now on to Sony. Rumors say that Sony will release a new gaming title called "Home." It is expected to be a virtual world, much like "Second Life," and it will play on the PS3. There may be some "Mario" type games in the works, since John Smedley, the President of Sony Online Entertainment mentioned that the company hopes to attract a younger audience with free realm and whimsical fantasy games. Nintendo is the company best known for family-friendly games. And finally, Microsoft. The Xbox 360 20G will drop in price from $349 to $299, a difference in $50. A new Xbox 360 with 60G storage will be available for $349. Rumor has it that Microsoft will release a controller that is similar to the one for the Wii, a wireless motion sensor. As for Halo, advanced information has been supposedly leaked from a Wal-mart database for a game called "Halo Blue."
