Great Gifts: Photo Printer Buying Guideby Emily Price | More from this Blogger 03 Nov 2006 02:19 AM A photo printer can make an excellent gift idea for someone in your life that enjoys taking digital photographs. Photo printers are typically designed to connect to any type of computer, and many photo printers don't require you to connect them to a computer at all in order to use them. Depending on your digital camera manufacturer you may be able to purchase a printer that you can directly connect your camera to, or one that you can simply take out the memory card and put the card into your printer without ever having to the put the pictures onto a computer. For someone who likes taking pictures, a photo printer can be a fantastic item to own. Owning your own photo printer can allow you to print out the pictures you want, when you want them without having to go out to a store somewhere to do the printing. When you're shopping for a photo printer there are a few things you should keep in mind.

I am increasingly inclined towards online shopping. I have almost never found online prices to be higher than the store prices. Even better, the online auctions especially for "used" but "good as new" gifts could be a rewarding experience, in terms of time and money saved. However, the good old Econ 101 rule applies -- higher reward comes with higher risk. However, a savvy online auction shopper should be able to hold their own. For instance, my kid is ready for video gaming. Now I don't know why kids can not use the house PC for gaming; why do they want a dedicated console. However, I know the first step of buying a console could readily turn into a $500 investment in games and accessorries. So I went online -- at the #1 auction site -- searched for Video Games auctions with Accessories and Games sorted by "ending soon" order. With a $50 investment in a game with a plethora of accessories and games, I know I am good for a year or two! NerdyPa (11) 07 Dec 2006 12:22 PMJust as I posted my comment, I heard on TV that online retailers are advising around Dec 14 to be the deadline for online shipments to get to you ontime. I'd assume this applies to online auctions as well. Community Tags Christmas Gift Rush Discuss this article
