iPod Gets An Upgrade

For all you iPod fans out there this week was a big one from iPod. Every version of the popular mp3 player got a little upgrade. I've had an iPod since the first week they were released on the market. Up until this point I had still been using my first generation iPod, and then a Nano for jogging. With the upgrades to all of the iPod models I am seriously considering making a new iPod purchase this year. Here are all the iPod models and what's new:

iPod Shuffle

When you think of an iPod shuffle you more than likely think of the small white mp3 player that resembles a pack of gum. Not anymore. The new iPod shuffle is a small 1.62 inch long player that comes with a clip built in. Now instead of buying a case to hold your iPod you can just clip the player to your shirt, belt, book bag, hat, or whatever else you have around you want to clip the player to.

iPod Nano

The Nano has always been a pretty sleek looking mp3 player in my opinion. Now the shuffle is even cooler because it comes in color. The new versions of the Nano are a lot thinner than their predecessors, and some models can run for up to 24 hours without needing a charge. The mp3 players have a anodized aluminum casing to keep them protected and can hold up to 2,000 songs.

iPod

The regular iPod got a few updates as well. Apple released a few 80GB version that can hold up to 20,000 song, 25,000 photographs, or 100 hours of video. The battery on the new iPod is expected to last up to 20 hours, which is double the 10 hour play time the first generation iPods could offer.
