Kids Coloring Pages

Looking for some fun coloring pages to keep the kids occupied on a long car trip or during summer thunderstorms? Here are some of the best internet resources for coloring pages. You'll find all of your favorite characters plus some learning worksheets, too.

DTKL's Coloring Pages

DLTK is one of my favorite places to get coloring pages and preschool worksheets. I have been visiting the site since my oldest was two (he is now six). There are plenty of themes to chose from learning subjects, such as as Ancient Rome, the Bible, Community Helpers and Dental Health, to pure fun, such as holidays, fairy tales, princesses, space vehicles and sports.

The youngest kids will have plenty to color with simple shapes, letters, animals and more.

Every cartoon character that you can think of is also available to color, from Arthur to Yu Gi Oh. The easy to use index of pages makes it a great resource for birthday parties. I always have a few different coloring pages available to guests in whichever character or theme is related to our party.

PBS KIDS Coloring

And speaking of characters, PBS KIDS has a lot of them to color. If your child is asking for "more Clifford," you can always turn off the TV and hand her a few pages and some crayons, or better yet, take the time to color together. You can take the opportunity to talk about the characters and the stories as you color.

As an added bonus to this website, you can color online, if you like, although we always prefer the manual crayon and paper way to do it. There is just something so precious about those first streaks outside of the lines and the proud purple--colored trees and yellow-colored sky that a preschooler will present to you.
