The Sony Playstation 3 has got to be one of the best video game systems out there, especially with its coveted Blu-Ray DVD player. Unfortunately, though, out of all of the popular video game systems, the Playstation 3 is probably the one with the most violent and bloody games.

Because it is so important to make sure that are children are only exposed to games that we, as parents, deem appropriate, we are going through the various steps of setting up parental controls of the Sony Playstation 3. If you missed the first part of this article, click here: Setting Sony Playstation 3 Parental Controls. It will take you through the first steps.

Once you are in the Parental Control area, enter the number for the level that you would like to use. As a reminder, T-rated games would fall somewhere around level 5, although this may not always be the case. Use the lower numbers for E or E-10 games.

You'll then be back to the "Security Settings Menu." Scroll up and select "Change Password."

Enter the default system password once again. It is "0000."

Enter a new 4-digit password. Make sure that it is something that you can easily remember but cannot be easily guessed. Then enter your new password a second time to confirm it.

You will be prompted by the question: "Do you want to change your password to "0000," where "0000" is the password you entered. Select "yes."

Your password controls are now set. Your Playstation 3 system will now only play games set at the level you entered or at lower levels. If you wish to play a game that has a higher rating, you will be prompted to enter the password.

Do you think setting parental controls on a video game system is important?
